Uses and Benefits of Canola Omega 3 Oil

Canola omega 3 oil is often associated with providing glow to the skin and also with the treatment of acne and other skin problems. Almost all vegetable oils like flax seed, olive, corn, hemp and canola oil contain ALA which is a long-chain fatty acid required for many functions of the body.

Canola omega 3 oil has been found to be very helpful in healthy growth of the skin and hair. People use this oil to cure their age-old skin problems like premature aging, wrinkles, red spots, cystic acne and many other similar problems.

Canola and other vegetable oils are important for the development of a healthy immune system. Omega 3 fats found in these oils are good for reducing triglyceride and bad cholesterol levels in the body and they also prevent heart disease and other problems related to the heart like hardening of arteries and high blood pressure.

Canola oil contains omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids in the ratio of 2:1, which is the lowest and most favorable among all other vegetable oils. It is therefore very beneficial for our body and it helps to maintain blood pressure at a stable level. Omega 3 fats are known to provide relief in inflammatory conditions like arthritis and cystitis. They also cure psychological illnesses like depression and anxiety.

In addition to omega 3 and omega 6 fats, canola oil has also been found to be rich in vitamin E. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble anti-oxidant and helps in proper absorption of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Without vitamin E and certain other enzymes, the fats we consume through diet will not be absorbed by our bloodstream. As a result, they start accumulating in tissues and muscles and cause problems.

Recently, it has been established that fatty acids like DHA and EPA can prolong the ageing process of the skin. Other than canola omega 3 oil and other vegetable oils, fish oil can also be consumed on a regular basis to treat various diseases.

However, fish oil may contain harmful impurities and contaminants in the form of heavy metals like lead and mercury and therefore you need to be very careful in choosing your product. Only pharmaceutical grade oil which is refined and pure is recommended by health specialists. Your omega 3 supplements should provide at least 120 mg of DHA and 180 mg of EPA to be an effective product.
